Who we are
South East Community Croquet ("SECC", "we", "us") is an unincorporated community croquet club run by volunteers in Co. Waterford, Ireland. We run free croquet groups in Dunmore East, Passage East and Cheekpoint. We are the data controller for the personal information described on this page. You can reach us at any time by email at michael@mcx.ie or by phone or WhatsApp on 086 822 5301.
What information we collect
We only collect the details you choose to give us. If you fill in the register your interest form on this website, that is your first name, last name, email address, phone number, the group nearest you, your confirmation that you are over 18, and anything you write in the optional message box. If you contact us directly by phone, WhatsApp, email or Facebook, we hold whatever is in that message. We do not ask for, and you should not send us, any sensitive personal information.
Why we use it and our legal basis
We use your details for one purpose: to let you know when croquet sessions are starting near you, to arrange taster sessions and to answer your questions. Our legal basis under the GDPR is your consent, which you give by submitting the form or contacting us. You can withdraw that consent at any time and we will stop contacting you. We do not use your details for advertising, we do not profile you, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
Your details are seen by the SECC committee volunteers who organise sessions. We never sell your information and we never pass it to third parties for their own marketing. We do use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf so the website can work: Vercel hosts this website and keeps standard server logs, and Resend delivers the email that the registration form generates. Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the provider's own Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not run a third-party analytics script that profiles you across sites. The only third-party request the pages make is to Google Fonts to load the typefaces used in the design. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary, short-lived server request logs for security and reliability.
How long we keep it
We keep registration details for as long as you are interested in playing with us, and we review the list at the end of each season. If you tell us you are no longer interested, or you ask us to delete your details, we remove them promptly.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent. Email michael@mcx.ie and we will deal with your request within one month, free of charge. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Children
Our sessions are currently for adults only and the registration form asks you to confirm you are over 18. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe a child has sent us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. For anything at all about your privacy, just get in touch — a real person will answer.
